Golf Scholarship to Liv Cheng

Talented golf player from Macleans College, Liv Cheng, has accepted a full golf scholarship at the University of Pepperdine, Malibu, California.
She said today that she was excited about the scholarship and that she was looking forward to attending Pepperdine. The opportunity will allow her to compete at the highest level of amateur golf while pursuing her studies majoring in sports science.

Liv represented New Zealand last year in the Under Armour
Golf Combines held in Beaumont, California. She was placed first in the West Combine Stroke Play Under 18 finishing one over and she was also placed first overall in the Skills Challenge.
These events exposed her to numerous coaches and recruiting scouts with the University of Pepperdine scholarship being offered.
Last year, Liv was part of the winning Auckland team in the national inter-provincial tournament. This year she was a member of the winning team that beat Australia in the Trans Tasman Golfing Cup.
The sixteen year old has also been a member of the Macleans Golf Team for the past four years. Her style is described as smooth and fluid and eventually she wants to qualify as a professional player.
Liv leaves for California in August.
